About EnSpire Oxford
EnSpire Oxford is the University of Oxford's entrepreneurship hub, part of the Innovation and Engagement team within Research Services. We help students, researchers, staff and alumni get inspired to explore entrepreneurship, launch startups and grow ventures.
We organise and deliver our own programmes, events and competitions, and we sponsor entrepreneurial activity right across the University — acting as a super-connector and central hub for opportunities. Alongside that we offer tailored support and share what's happening through our newsletter, making it easier for everyone at Oxford to get involved, stay informed and build something new.
Through EnSpire, you can explore Oxford's vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and wider community, gaining access to experiential learning, mentorship and networking opportunities. Whether you want to develop your entrepreneurial mindset, shape a new idea or scale an existing venture, EnSpire will help you build the skills, confidence and connections to bring your ambitions to life.
OUR NARRATIVE
Every venture starts with an idea. What if the next one's yours?
At Oxford, the instinct has always been to follow a question wherever it leads. That is where most ventures begin — not with a plan, but with a question someone couldn't set aside. A scientist notices her results keep pointing past the paper, toward something that could be built. A sociologist defines a problem so precisely that its solution comes into view. Different people, different fields, one shared instinct: they followed the question, and they set out to answer it.
Curiosity, and the resolve to act on it, can be taught, learned and sharpened like any other skill. The ambition is already here. What future founders need is the language to name what they are onto, a clear sense of where it could lead, and the guidance of someone who has done it before.
That is what EnSpire is for. We are the University of Oxford's entrepreneurship hub — the place where you can explore that curiosity, and where ideas become ventures.
Our mission is to help every kind of person at Oxford take the next real step toward innovation — the DPhil and the early-career researcher, the student who never saw themselves this way, the member of staff or alumnus who thought the moment had passed — and to connect them with the rich ecosystem Oxford has to offer.

WHERE WE SIT
EnSpire is one part of a much larger ecosystem. We work most closely with three partners inside the University — the Oxford Saïd Entrepreneurship Centre, Oxford Edge and Oxford University Innovation — alongside divisional enterprise teams, student societies, social enterprise networks, and our regional and European partners.
