Harwell Japan Day 2026
Japanese and UK innovators, investors and researchers spend a day at Harwell building one of the fastest-growing innovation bridges between the two countries.
What it is
A full day at Harwell connecting Japanese innovation with the UK science and technology ecosystem. Speakers work through why the two countries need each other — what keeps the UK among the world's leading innovation ecosystems, what makes Harwell a distinctive place for science-driven collaboration, why Japanese technology, manufacturing and entrepreneurship still matter globally, and why start-ups, corporations and regional ecosystems get further together than apart.
The day is built for outcomes rather than talks alone: the intent is that participants leave with research partners, customers, investors, suppliers or university contacts they didn't have that morning. Start-ups, multinationals, universities, government organisations and investment funds are all in the room.
