iGEM Applications Now Open!

If you are passionate about synthetic biology and interested in participating in iGEM, we invite you to complete the application form attached to this email. The link will take you to the first round of application that involves a series of multiple short questions that you need to answer for your application to be reviewed by the committee.

The first round of application will close on 27th of November. Shortlisted candidates will be then invited to attend the second round which will consist of interviews during a weekend of 7th or 8th week.

We aim to finalise and announce the 2025 iGEM team by the end of Michaelmas Term!

The International Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) competition is the most prestigious event in synthetic biology, uniting over 350 teams from across the globe to push the frontiers of science. Over the course of 10 exciting months, team members will dive into the interdisciplinary world of synthetic biology, blending engineering, outreach, and entrepreneurship to develop novel solutions for real-world challenges. As part of this team, you’ll gain hands-on experience in designing, presenting, and executing a project in synthetic biology while learning to communicate your vision to diverse audiences. The experience culminates in the prestigious Grand Jamboree event in Paris, where you’ll present your project on an international stage, connecting with fellow iGEMers, researchers, and industry leaders, all while competing for top awards.

This is your chance to make a difference, grow as a scientist, and be part of something extraordinary.

Join Oxford’s iGEM team and help shape the future of synthetic biology!
