About Indie Oxford
Independent Oxford was created in 2015, as I believe in the positive social impact of local businesses, and wanted to create a community for indies to find support and empowerment. Running my own business, I felt a real need for peer support and community, so thought others would too!
What started as a monthly meet up for indies, has now grown organically into a community of over 180 businesses, who support each other, champion the value of buying local and the positive social impact indies can make. I am really driven to encourage more people away from the chains and to invest in their local economy and community, and do this through the reach of the website and IO social channels and newsletter, highlighting Oxfordshire indies and why local is better for us all.
