Is Net Zero an issue for your business?

There is little doubt that the climate is changing. But is Net Zero a real issue for you in your SME business yet? There are three key questions you need to ask yourself in deciding:

  • Do I want to reduce my business carbon because I believe it’s the right thing to do?
  • If we don’t manage the carbon emissions from our business then will we suffer in some way?
  • Can we use ‘carbon reductions’ to gain competitive advantage?

Hear from Annabel Nicholls, Environmental & Sustainability Coordinator at ASM Auto Recycling Ltd (Thame) about why they have taken Net Zero seriously and how it is positively affecting their business. ASM recently celebrated winning the Enterprise Oxfordshire Business Awards for Environmental & Sustainability Business of the Year and Overall Business of the Year!

It is clear that market pressure is mounting and this is only going to increase. For instance, every supplier to the NHS (with a contract over £10k) now has to have a carbon reduction plan and commit to Net Zero. Soon enough this will spread to every contract and market across the UK and beyond. Every customer will expect you to be taking action!

But don't panic, there are tools and experience available to help small businesses to take action, and this workshop will walk you through a selection of these.

Before the workshop, if you wish to prepare a first version of your business carbon footprint so you are ready with questions, we recommend visiting: https://businessclimatehub.org/how-it-works/

The workshop will be led by Phil Curtis, a specialist in transforming businesses towards a high-performance culture with a sustainable future. He has a toolkit built through 30 years leadership in global companies, small and large, across multiple sectors. His approach will help you to simplify your thinking, prioritise, and deliver meaningful changes that contribute to the global net zero transformation.
