Workshop Content
- Understand what a social venture is, and how it might differ from traditional ventures.
- Understand that there are a wide range of business models, funding options, and legal structures available to social ventures, and what some of these can look like.
- Understand what kind of impact can be made and how to measure and grow it.

Your Facilitators
Liv is a design researcher and facilitator with over 12 years’ experience leading participatory research and social impact projects. She specialises in bringing together diverse stakeholders to solve complex, systemic challenges. Her work is rooted in an inclusive, trauma-informed approach, with a deep focus on understanding and shifting power dynamics. She has worked with charities, social enterprises, funders, and government, and has expertise across mental health, accessibility, digital access, regenerative futures, and organisational change. Her past clients include the V&A, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Samaritans, Scope, Scouts, NHSX and the National Citizen Service. Liv holds an MEng in Product Design Engineering from the University of Glasgow.
Maya is an experiential facilitator, coach and educator, with over 15 years of experience in the non-profit, social impact and education sectors. She draws on participatory and experiential learning design to create and facilitate spaces for learning and collaboration. These have included designing and delivering online and in-person programmes such as ThoughtBox’s Educator and Leadership programmes, and leading the London IDG Hub.
