All-Innovate is the University of Oxford's idea competition aiming to encourage students and staff at the University of Oxford to develop an entrepreneurial skill set and generate business ideas, regardless of discipline, level of study or experience in entrepreneurship.

Submit any business idea to gain the knowledge, support and skills needed to expand your entrepreneurial mindset and take the first steps into entrepreneurship. No idea? No problem! Sign up to find a list of ideas ready to choose from. The purpose of All-Innovate is to encourage anyone who wants an insight into the world of entrepreneurship - your idea doesn't have to be perfect or fully formed.

Once you have signed up, you will be given access to Validate - a startup ideas platform that allows you to ideate, plan, test and share entrepreneurial and innovative ideas. As part of All-Innovate, we're running five optional training sessions during Hilary term 2025, through which you will gain the skills to create a Business Model Canvas (BMC) while building an entrepreneurial network.

For those who would like to explore their idea further, there is also the option to apply for £500 funding once your BMC has been created. Find all of the information on how to sign up, how to apply for funding and all of the key dates below.

Who Can Apply?

All undergraduates, postgraduates, DPhils, research staff and professional services staff from any department of the University of Oxford are invited to sign up to the competition with an entrepreneurial idea or choose one of ours to get you started.

Participants will engage in strategic analysis of their resource needs, learn how to manage them judiciously, and identify key partners who can amplify their business potential. Simultaneously, the session underscores the importance of streamlining key activities to drive efficiency and maintain a competitive edge. The in-person dynamic allows for networking opportunities that can evolve into potential collaborations and support systems.

Module 5, Pitching and Presentation Skills: Preparing and Managing Tough Panel Questions (In-Person)
Wednesday 26th February, 17:30-19:00

Participants will learn the key elements of a winning pitch, including structuring content, using storytelling for engagement, and delivering a strong opening and memorable conclusion.

The module will cover effective use of body language, vocal techniques, and visual aids to maximize audience connection. Participants will anticipate and prepare for tough questions by predicting potential concerns, providing clear responses, and managing unknowns with composure. Strategies for reducing anxiety, staying in control, and handling negative feedback are also emphasized.
