Innovation Forum is partnering with Liquid (LQD) Ventures (London-based early-stage deep tech VC firm), marking the launch of the 2025 Innovation Forum Venture Fellowship Programme. This pioneering initiative is designed to empower PhD students and Postdoctoral researchers passionate about deep science/tech and venture capital across the UK.

About the Venture Fellowship Programme
The Innovation Forum Venture Fellowship is a 6 to12-month part-time programme offering:
• Extensive Venture Capital Experience: Gain hands-on experience in venture capital search and evaluation, due diligence, and deal-flow management. Work alongside seasoned investors at LQD Ventures to understand the intricacies of funding startups.
• Leadership Opportunities: Lead an Innovation Forum branch at your university, organising events, workshops, and initiatives that foster innovation and collaboration within your academic, industry, investor and startup communities.
• Networking and Mentorship: Mentorship by experienced VCs, and connect with a global network of entrepreneurs, industry professionals, investors, and thought leaders who can guide and inspire your journey.
Who should apply
We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong passion for deep-tech innovation and startups. Ideal candidates will be:
• PhD students or postdocs in advanced computing, biotech/life sciences, applied AI, advanced engineering, or TechBio.
• Deeply interested in entrepreneurship, venture capital, and technology commercialisation.
• Well-connected within the local academic and startup ecosystem.
• Strong communicators with leadership and organisational skills.
• Self-driven and proactive in engaging stakeholders.
The programme offers five exclusive spots for Venture Fellows, each focusing on one of the following key fields in deep science and technology:
• Advanced Computing: Quantum, Biocomputing, Cybernetics, MMI, Neuromorphic computing.
• Biotech: Genetics, Bioengineering, Advanced Diagnostics, etc.
• Applied AI: Natural Language Processing, Edge Computing, Large Engineering Models, Computer vision
• Advanced Engineering: Biomimicry, Robotics, Robots, un-crewed vehicles, Nanotech
• TechBio: Novel diagnostic & treatment platforms, Ai-Driven drug discovery, Multi-omics, Bioremediation, Synthetic Biology
