The programme has a two-track approach to support PhDs ready to launch a startup and those looking to explore research commercialisation – so you can move through it at a speed that works for you. From day one, Conception X connects you with industry experts and investors, it helps you become eligible for innovation grants, awards and venture capital funding, and access coaching and networking opportunities.
Over the past six years, Conception X has supported more than 500 PhD students to launch deeptech ventures based on their research, creating 125 companies that have raised £100+ million in early-stage investments and grants.
The top startups in our Cohort 8 focusing on AI, quantum computing, robotics, biotech and other breakthrough technologies will have the chance to be considered for potential funding of up to £250,000 through Conception X's partnership with XTX Ventures.
Conception X has also partnered with the Henry Royce Institute to offer 10 spots on the programme to PhD researchers working on materials technology challenges for hydrogen production, distribution, end use or sensing. Successful teams will benefit from the guidance of hydrogen industry experts and technical advisors, and could get the exclusive opportunity to pitch to the Royce Hydrogen Accelerator network of Industry Partners and Investors for additional investment and scale-up support.
