Marketing Camp - Nailing Customer Relationship Management

This month’s speaker is Bridget Pyne, Marketing Manager at Babelquest. Bridget lives just outside Abingdon in a small village where she edits the lovely little local paper, she regularly eats donuts for breakfast, and her first-ever marketing job was for a funeral company.

She'll be walking us through a range of key tools and processes to help us track - and grow - our customer relationships.

Because data might not be the sexiest topic - but if we want more people to buy into what we're selling then we need to be smart about keeping track of who we're talking to and how they're responding, as well as making plans for how to enage them next.

So we'll start by nailing down why Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is so important for our businesses, exploring the kinds of data we need to focus on and how and why it links to our comms and interactions with people. We'll also go through what to think about when we're choosing a CRM solution (whether that's a simple spreadsheet, a flexible online tool like Hubspot or MailChimp, or a chunky database like Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics) and the key things to look for and steer clear of depending on our context.

Then we'll be thinking about how we can use our chosen CRM tool to build new and stronger relationships with customers (existing and potential) and ultimately get more sales, finishing up with a practical case study to show how one specific company used their CRM to grow.

How our gatherings usually go

🍻 6pm: Doors open for (free) drinks, marketing chit-chat, and - let's face it - probably at least some small talk about the weather

🧑‍🏫 6.30-7.30pm: A brilliant marketing talk from a knowledgeable and interesting human, plus some Q&A and informal group discussion

🤓 7.30-7.45pm: It’s GUS time (that’s Genuinely Useful Shit)

🍻 7.45-8pm: More (still free) drinks and fun chat, hopefully about more interesting stuff than the weather by this point

Hosted by brand voice strategist Bethany Joy, in partnership with the fantastic Oxford College of Marketing.
