OxLEP - 5 Tips to Improve your Results from Networking, Quickly!

“Every big opportunity starts with a little conversation”

Whether you are a veteran of networking events, or nervous about attending your first event, this session will teach you the mistakes which people often make, how to avoid them, and what actually works.

You’ll learn:

  • What to do to prepare before each event
  • How to build your reputation so that people know what you do, even before you meet them
  • How to deliver a networking introduction which just works (and why it is never an elevator pitch)
  • How and when to follow up
  • And how to make sure that people can buy from you, simply.

Along the way, we’ll look at best practice and best behaviour in networking, so that people want to be around you, and don’t want to avoid you.

Your expert

Stefan Thomas is the Oxfordshire based author of ‘Business Networking for Dummies’ as well as two other Amazon bestselling books on networking. He speaks on networking for organisations all over the UK and Europe including BT, namecheap, Utility Warehouse, Lloyds Bank, The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and many others.

He lives in Witney, with his wife Sharon and between them they have five grown up children. For a 53 year old who should know better, Stefan spends far too much time at punk gigs, and still likes to think the mosh pit is an appropriate place for someone his age.
