SAC - Unlocking Satellite-Driven Insights for Financial Services

Data and services from satellites are playing an exciting role in shaping the future of Financial Services, driving innovation and unlocking new commercial opportunities.

Unlocking Space for Business is an 18-month programme launched by the UK Space Agency to support companies in the UK’s Financial Services sector to better understand and capitalise on these opportunities to solve key business challenges.

Since launch, the programme has had significant engagement with both the Financial Services and Space sectors, through networking events, exploration workshops, funding opportunities, and learning & development sessions, helping to identify key use cases where Earth Observation (i.e. satellite imagery) and other satellite services can be used to unlock operational, customer and environmental benefits for business.

This includes improving climate risk analytics, biodiversity and emission monitoring, evaluating changes to infrastructure development and more, which impact key financial services processes across Banking, Insurance and Asset Management.

Ahead of future funding activities, this interactive event will bring together stakeholders across Financial Services, Technology and Space sectors, so that:
1) Businesses can learn about latest use cases from suppliers
2) Suppliers can learn more about business challenges and requirements
3) Attendees can establish connections across the different sectors to accelerate the exploration of high value opportunities

This event will be run by the UK Space Agency, PwC and the Satellite Applications Catapult.
