Programme overview
Edge Challenges, delivered by Oxford Edge with support from EnSpire Oxford, is a multi-week programme for Oxford DPhil and master's students.
Once selected, you'll join an interdisciplinary team and take on a challenge set by an industry partner, in areas such as quantum, AI, life sciences, deep tech, the creative industries and social impact. With mentoring from industry throughout, your team will use its research expertise to produce a real outcome, such as a solution design, proof of concept or minimum viable product.

How to apply
Apply when applications open at the start of Michaelmas term. Places are selective. Integrated master's students (fourth-year undergraduates) aren't eligible.
- Cohort 1: 19 October 2026 – 12 February 2027
- Cohort 2: 23 February – 16 May 2027 (twelve weeks)
