Programme Overview
The Student Entrepreneurs Programme (StEP) is a two-month summer programme equipping students with the entrepreneurial knowledge and practical skills to transform innovative ideas into realistic and sustainable ventures. This involves team building, market exploration, business model development, and opportunities to present and pitch their ventures for cash prizes.
Participants join as individuals or teams, either developing their own ideas or exploring University IP opportunities.Over eight weeks they validate their venture through customer discovery, market research, prototyping, mentoring, workshops and peer learning, before pitching their progress and next steps at the end of the programme.

StEP is for students with a genuine ambition to start a venture or to gain hands-on experience building an early-stage business. It is ideal for those committed to developing their own idea, or to working on a University IP project as part of a startup team.
StEP is open to the University of Oxford community, including undergraduate students, postgraduates and DPhils.
StEP runs on an open call application, with interviews for those shortlisted.
Dates: Eight weeks across July and August.
Applications for the 2027 cohort are not yet open.
