Startup Idea Competition
One idea could win you backing, recognition and a first step forward.
Next entry window: 12 October – 9 November 2026
Programme overview
The Startup Idea Competition, delivered by EnSpire Oxford, is open to Oxford students at any level, researchers, staff and alumni within two years of graduating. It's open to all disciplines, and no business plan or experience is needed.
Share your idea in a 250-word summary and a one-minute pitch video. A judging panel reviews every entry and awards cash prizes for innovation and potential impact. Every entrant receives a digital certificate and access to follow-on support and workshops to develop their idea further.
It's built for first-time founders and people from non-business disciplines who want a low-pressure way to practise explaining an idea and start exploring where it could go.
How to apply
Submit your summary and video through the online form while an entry window is open. There's no interview or invitation.
